The Alpha State Program of Work Committee consists of a chairman from each of the following Alpha State Committees: Program, Legislation, Music, Personal Growth and Services, Professional Affairs, Research, and Yearbook. This committee is responsible for promoting and encouraging chapters to plan and implement programs that are applicable to members’ interests and needs. The International Program manual is available for chapters to utilize in selecting program topics as well as providing examples based on the International program theme. Each chapter of the Society should develop a minimum of four programs each year based on the International program theme.
The Alpha State Program of Work Committee plans and conducts a workshop at state conventions as well as participates in the Info Fair which is usually held during the second year of a biennium. This committee also is responsible for planning, preparing materials, and conducting a workshop session during the area workshops.
The Program Committee, which consists of 18 members, one member from each of the 18 areas, is responsible for selecting recipients for the Annie Award for outstanding chapter programs which is presented each year at the state convention. They also help with workshop sessions at state conventions and area workshops.
