Professional Affairs Committee
BACK

The goal of the Professional Affairs Committee is to promote two of the Society's purposes: 3) advance the professional interest and position of women in education; 4) initiate, endorse, and support desirable legislation or other suitable endeavors in the interest of education and of women educators. The committee develops the workshops and Continuing Professional Education presentations at the Alpha State Convention each year. They select the presenters, schedule the times of the workshops, provide for check in and evaluation of each workshop, and issue certificates of completion for Continuing Professional Education (CPE) credit.

The Professional Affairs Committee also encourages chapters to provide information to its members concerning financial aid for prospective women educators through the grant-in-aid scholarships. Additionally, the committee will survey the chapters statewide to evaluate the status of women educators who have received grant-in-aid scholarships for their continued involvement in the field of education.
